CCE’s VIRTUAL WORKSHOP ON RECIST AND RADIOMICS

On October 4th, 2023 we had the virtual workshop on “RECIST in the era of AI, RADIOMICS and beyond”. A multidisciplinary and interactive session organized by Cancer Core Europe’s Imaging Task Force in collaboration with the Education and Training pillar.

The session was led by Professor Lennart Blomqvist from Karolinska University Hospital and Karolinska Institutet, Sweden, together with Dr Mireia Crispin Ortuzar (University of Cambridge), Dr Vitali Grozman (Karolinska University Hospital), Dr Ferry Lalezari (the Netherlands Cancer Institute), Dr Chikako Suzuki (Södersjukhuset), Dr Raquel Perez-Lopez (Vall d’ Hebron Institute of Oncology), and Dr Marta Vaiani (Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori). Radiologists, oncologists and other specialists from CCE centres interested in RECIST attended the workshop.

The participants had the chance to learn more about the fundamentals of RECIST and related imaging-based criteria for oncology treatment evaluation during the session. Additionally, to gain knowledge of radiomics and its potential in conjunction with immunotherapy and targeted medicines. At the end, the speakers and participants got the opportunity to explore the difficulties of employing imaging-based criteria, particularly in multicenter investigations and clinical trials, among other subjects.
